Our containerised plant room has been developed for use in both refurbishments and new builds. The prefabricated containers can be brought complete to the site ready to go.



A containerised plant room allows site managers to quickly and easily replace existing plant with low carbon energy sources such as biomass heating. The prefabricated standard design can be significantly cheaper than a bespoke plant room. It may also reduce programming issues during construction because it is brought to site and installed just in time.

On major new builds the plant room can provide low cost temporary supply, and ensure the site complies with carbon emission regulations in the early phases of a multiphase projects, before larger plant is brought on stream.

Fontenergy is helping a large housing association roll out a containerised biomass solution to sheltered housing schemes. Replacing ageing inefficient plant, this “plant room in a box” includes high efficiency gas boilers, biomass boiler, pumps, controls and other equipment. Residents benefit from improved efficiency and lower bills while the RSL reduces its capital costs.
